Slovenia Trip III
Journal Entry: Mon Jun 30, 2008, 3:28 AM
Farewell, Ljubljana. It has been really nice to meet you.
This city reminds me of Bratislava, at least in architecture. Nature is nice from distance, but as weather is changing quite fast and I have not brought tent with myself, I only stayed in city itself. I rented a bike and went around an Old Town. Small caffeteries, little car traffic and long night life are quite distinguishing features.
But in my opinion, Slovenias greatest treasure are people. Everything just seems to works here without any special efforts. Very little of policemen on streets, thought no problems. It seems like a society, where really most of the people are happy and contributing (as I read this, seems like working communism lol, but hey, it could be good description, of course not in economical way). There is a place called Metelkova, a tiny city in city. It is kinda underground matter, but once you will hang around, you will like it.
Staff at hostel, where my friend works is just incredible. You should see the castle, it is cozy. From monuments I would recommended besides Old Town features as bridges and small streets, cozy Castle with nice sightseeing and National Museum as well, it is not big, but has some interesting stuff from Ancient Ages.
Now I am in Celje, on hitch-hike halfway to Maribor and then Budapest, where I hope to hang around for a day with somebody from Couchsurfing before I go home.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
